HOW TO OBTAIN A GREAT WEBSITE-RANKING

To consider website-ranking, let me begin by sharing my own experience with you. When, after losing my savings as a result of both the housing market and my body falling apart, I decided to try something I could do at home and on my own terms that wouldn't be physically taxing. After considering my alternatives, I decided on internet marketing. Affiliate marketing seemed to hold some promise, so I determined that I first must learn how to create a website that would be an asset in such a venture. I had no idea of what it would take to obtain good website-ranking(rank well), reach the widest possible audience(traffic well), and also be a successful marketing tool(convert well). In other words I abstractly understood the three basic elements needed for a successful make-money website, but I didn't know how to implement them in practice.

I logically figured that first one has to learn how to create a website which would obtain a good website-ranking, then learn how to draw traffic to it, and finally learn how to sell the products represented on the website. I know I've said this before, but what I'm trying to draw attention to here, is the logical nature of the sequence. The reason is that it doesn't take too long to realize that these three things which fall into a logical order in the abstract, actually have to be done all at once, simultaneously, in practice. Ranking, traffic and conversion to selling, must all be intricately bound together in the content of your website. Each of them effects how you present your content and what indeed you say in your content. Therefore they must all be developed together. This is easier said than done. So, I began to search for the tools that would help me do this.

After researching scores of websites and programs with different names offering the same tools, I came upon one all-inclusive program that really impressed me. Not just for its most unusual earnest and straightforward presentation with a minimum of hype, but most importantly because it contains everything you could ask for: namely - a total educational program, your own registered domain, all the composition tools for your website, and all the tools for ranking, trafficking, and converting site visitors to customers. In addition to this it offers an extremely extensive program of help and support at every stage in the development and promotion of your site and money making success. Furthermore, once your site is up and running, it provides you with continuously updated data and analysis of your site's performance. "Wow!" I thought, and joined the program.

Website-Ranking : Meeting The Challenge

When you stop to think that, depending upon the subject matter of your site, there are literally thousands to millions of online sites that deal in some way with your subject matter, the challenge of obtaining a good ranking seems impossible. The program I joined however, promised me that if I would just be patient, and follow their step by step site building process, I would receive a good website-ranking. They claimed that their members rank in the top 3% in ranking. I was very impressed with the detail and quality of their process, so I continued on in good faith.

When the day finally came to submit my first website to the search engines (Google, Yahoo, Live and Ask), I was told to expect it to take up to two months to receive a ranking.I was excited, but I told myself to be patient. Then, much to my surprise, after only about ten days, my site not only appeared in the search engines, but was ranked so high I couldn't believe it!! It appeared anywhere from the first to the fourth listing on the first page of the web. I was really excited.

It was also listed under different descriptions, by the different search engines, and it always was in the top fraction of one percent of all the the sites listed on the web in its subject area and remains so to this day. I was so impressed with the program I had joined that I wrote the CEO, praised his program and thanked him for it.

What the program I joined stresses most in meeting the challenge of obtaining a high website-ranking is content. Their rationale makes sense. What the search engines look for in a website is well presented information. The purpose of a search engine is to find such information for you. While search engines tolerate a certain amount of advertising on a website, they do not favor sites that are strictly commercial. The most important factor in meeting the website-ranking challenge is well presented quality content.

It's easy to confuse a "well-ranked site" with a "well-trafficked" site. A well-ranked site will be among the first listed by the search engines to people searching the net in your subject area. But just seeing your listing does not guarantee that people will visit it, or click on it. If they do not, your site may not receive enough visitors to be successful. Site traffic consists of the number of people who don't just see your site listing but who actually visit your site. A well-trafficked site is one which attracts that number of visitors needed for its success. We need to take a look at what may well be the most important aspect of your site which is needed to attract visitors. That aspect is the Keyword.
